Privacy Policy
What the website, TradeVault and Wallet Forensics collect, where it goes, and what stays on your device. We describe what the code actually does. TradeVault and Wallet Forensics are coming soon and are not on sale yet.
The short version
- No accounts, no ads, no advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell your information.
- TradeVault keeps your trades and notes in your browser, on your device, and Wallet Forensics keeps its case file there too. We don't receive them.
- Our host, Cloudflare, handles basic technical information (like your IP address) to serve and protect the website, and we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-free page-view counter.
- When you buy an app, our checkout keeps the order, payment and license details needed to issue and recover your license.
- If you email us, we keep your email so we can answer it.
The details are below. This policy covers darkgeneral.com and the DarkGeneral Labs apps, which are owned and operated by Stanley Capital Group LLC (“we”, “us”).
Hosting, security and site statistics
The website runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages and Workers). Like any web host, Cloudflare processes limited technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the time and the referring page. It uses this to deliver pages, keep the website secure and stop abuse. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people from bots. We don't set cookies of our own.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies or local storage, and it gives us totals only, such as page views, popular pages, referring sites, countries, browsers and page speed. We can't use it to identify you.
Some features count requests per IP address over a short window to stop abuse (rate limiting). These counters are used for nothing else.
What stays in your browser
Some features save small amounts of data in your browser's local storage, on your device only. We don't receive it, and you can delete it at any time by clearing this website's data in your browser settings.
- The news page keeps a short-lived copy of the latest headlines, so it loads faster.
- Spot the Rug keeps your progress and streak, and the name you used on the streak board if you joined it.
- The Interrogator remembers whether you installed it as an app, and keeps an offline copy of its page so it opens quickly.
- If the in-site Buy button is switched on, the Jupiter swap widget saves its own settings.
Website features that send data
- News. The news page asks our server for headlines, and our server reads public news feeds. Nothing about you is sent to the news sites.
- The Interrogator. What you paste in (a token address, wallet address, website or X handle) goes to our server, which looks it up in public sources such as blockchains and block explorers, DexScreener, RugCheck, Honeypot.is and domain registration records, with Jupiter and CoinGecko as backup sources for token data and prices. Results are cached for about ten minutes so repeat lookups are fast. A case link contains the address you checked, so anyone you share it with can open that case. Token logos load directly from the token's image host. Please don't paste anything private.
- Leaderboards. If you put a wallet on the wallet board, its public address and report-card stats are shown publicly until you remove it from the leaderboard page. If you join the Spot the Rug streak board, we store the name you choose, your streak and the date, and show them publicly. We also store your IP address with your entry (never shown) so nobody else can take your name.
- Telegram bot. Messages you send to our Interrogator bot are handled through Telegram. If you ask it to watch a token, we store your chat ID and the watched tokens so we can send alerts, until you use /unwatch.
- Contact form. The form on the contact page only opens your own email app with your message filled in. Nothing is sent or stored by the page.
- Buy button. The in-site Buy button is off until a coin launches. When it's on, it loads Jupiter's swap widget, and swaps go through Jupiter and your own wallet. We never see your keys.
- Links and share buttons to X, Telegram and other sites only contact those sites when you click them.
TradeVault
- Stored on your device. Your trades, notes, screenshots, backups and license data are stored locally in your browser. There is no account and the app sends no telemetry.
- Helius. When you import a wallet, the app sends that wallet's public address to Helius using your own Helius API key. Your key stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
- CoinGecko. Token identifiers may be sent to CoinGecko's public API to get prices.
- Clearing storage. If you clear your browser's data for TradeVault, your trades, notes and license data are deleted from that browser. We can't restore them.
- Backups are your job. Use TradeVault's encrypted backup to keep a copy or move to another device.
Helius and CoinGecko are independent services with their own privacy policies.
Wallet Forensics
- Stored on your device. The case file stays in your browser: checks, notes, tags, the watchlist, backups and the license file. The app sends no telemetry, has no advertising or analytics, and doesn't send your checks to us.
- Helius. A live check sends the public wallet address or token mint to Helius, using the Helius API key you paste. Your key stays in your browser and is sent only to Helius, never to us.
- Prices. Price lookups go to Jupiter's public price API and, for tokens Jupiter doesn't list, to CoinGecko's public API. They contain token identifiers only: not your Helius key, a wallet address or a transaction signature.
- Exports. Exported reports and investigation cards don't include your Helius key. The encrypted backup leaves the key out unless you ask for it.
- Clearing storage. If you clear your browser's data for Wallet Forensics, the case file is deleted from that browser. Download a backup first.
Helius, Jupiter and CoinGecko are independent services with their own privacy policies. The app's own privacy note, bundled with Wallet Forensics, says the same.
Checkout and licenses
When you buy TradeVault or Wallet Forensics, our checkout service (one for each app) (which runs on Cloudflare) processes what it needs to take a blockchain payment and issue your license:
- the order: the asset (cryptocurrency) you pay with, the amount and an order ID;
- the payment: the blockchain transaction signature, its status and the time;
- the license we issue for that order;
- your email address, only if you choose to give one. It is saved on the order so you can recover your license with your order ID plus that email;
- when you recover a license: the transaction signature, or the order ID together with the email saved on that order;
- the license agreement (EULA) version you accepted and the time the checkout service received that acceptance. This is stored on the order record, not in your license file;
- your network (IP) address, used for rate limits only.
We don't receive your trades or your Wallet Forensics checks.
Prices are quoted from public market data (CoinGecko, with a backup source). That lookup doesn't include anything about you.
Blockchain payments are public. Anyone can see the sending wallet, amount and time on the blockchain, permanently. We can't change or delete that.
Email and support
When you write to support@darkgeneral.com, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your message to our support mailbox, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). We keep your email and our replies so we can help you and keep records of orders and support.
We will never ask for your seed phrase, private key or full license file. Don't send them to anyone who claims to be us.
Who we share data with
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for advertising. It is handled by the services that run the website and apps for us:
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, the checkout service and its storage, Web Analytics and email forwarding.
- Google: our support mailbox.
- Telegram: messages to our bot.
- Public data sources the Interrogator looks things up in.
- Helius, Jupiter and CoinGecko: contacted directly by TradeVault and Wallet Forensics in your browser, as described above.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our users or the website from fraud or abuse.
These services may process data in the United States and other countries.
How long we keep it
- Rate-limit counters: minutes.
- Interrogator results: about ten minutes, so repeat lookups are fast.
- Leaderboard entries: until you remove them or they drop off the board. Telegram watch lists: until you /unwatch.
- Orders and licenses: as long as we need them to verify and recover licenses and keep business records.
- Support emails: as long as we need them to help you and keep records.
- Cloudflare's technical logs: as set by Cloudflare.
Your choices and rights
- Clear this website's data in your browser at any time.
- Email support@darkgeneral.com to ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, including a leaderboard entry. We may need to keep some order records, and we can't change anything recorded on a blockchain.
- Depending on where you live, you may have more privacy rights under the law. Email us and we'll help.
Children, security and changes
The website and apps are not meant for children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no website or service is perfectly secure.
We'll post any update to this policy here with a new effective date.
